BRIDGEPORT -- Edgbert Thomas Hudson, 89, the retired owner and operator of Hudson Butane of Bridgeport died Saturday, October 20, 2007 at his home in Bridgeport.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2007 at Hawkins Funeral Home. Burial: East Bridgeport Cemetery. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Tuesday. Pallbearers: Jeff Green, Tim Green, Larry Green, Gary Green, Tony Green, Todd Milligan, Lt. Col. Derek Foreman, Leslie Oates. Military honors conducted by the Wise County Veterans Group.
Mr. Hudson was born Sept. 22, 1918 in Bridgeport to Thomas N. and Annie N. Woodard Hudson. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and a member of the Lost Batallion P.O.W. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gladys Mae Green and brother, Chesley Hudson. Mr. Hudson married Bettye Leonard Oct. 30, 1992 in Ft. Worth. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bridgeport, Disabled American Veterans, Wise County Veterans Group and a retired 25 year member of the Bridgeport Volunteer Fire Dept. Survivors: Wife, Bettye F. Hudson; sons, James Thomas "Tommy" Hudson and wife Pamela, Robert Don "Bob" Hudson and wife Marcy; grandsons, Andrew Thomas Hudson and wife Brandy, Adam Thomas Hudson and Seth Douglas Hudson; granddaughter, Meredith D'Nee Hudson; great grandchildren, Cade and Cassidy Hudson; sister, Earline Virginia Burdick; stepson, Billy Jack Foreman and wife Sherrill; step grandson, Lt. Col. Derek Foreman and wife Ronda, Mike Smith and wife Tara and John Leonard Judge; step granddaughter, Misten Elise Milligan and husband Todd; Step great grandchildren, Andy and Vivianne Foreman, Ian and Maryn Milligan, Hayden and Dawson Smith; numerous other family members and many friends.
