Edith was born near Sobol, Oklahoma on April 8, 1922, to Noah Ellis and Julia Wages Rowe. She married Hubert Lee Boner on November 18, 1935 in Alvord, Texas.
Edith was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Alvord where she sang and played for the church services. She worked with Meals on Wheels and also joined with other community members to sing weekly at the county convalescent home. Edith continued her work with the church and the senior citizens until her illness.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at First United Methodist Church in Alvord with Rev. Carroll Caddell and Rev. Homer Rich officiating. Burial will be at Alvord Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday. PALLBEARERS: Robert C. Evans, Lee H. Evans, Kenny Boner, Robby Waggoner, Steven Hankins and Landon Hankins.
SURVIVORS: Son, Hubert Ellis Boner and wife, Lois, of Bowie and daughter, Mary Lee Creighton of Mineral Wells; five grandchildren, Lt. Col. Robert Clayton Evans and wife, Captain Rachel Evans, Major Lee H. Evans and his wife, Melissa, Kristi Elaine Hankins and her husband, Steve, Kenny Ellis Boner and wife, Lana, and Mary Michelle Evans Wagoner and her husband Robby and nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sister Louise Carlton of Charlotte, North Carolina and two brothers, Norman Rowe and wife, Dorothy, of Bowie, and Jessie Wade Rowe and his wife, Barbara of Decatur.
