Edith (Swinney) Huebner

Boyd ~ Edith Swinney Huebner, 91, a retired chief clerk, went to be with our Lord Tuesday, November 27, 2018 in Boyd.

Funeral is 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Boyd with burial in Boyd Cemetery.  Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Rev. Robert Turk will officiate.

Edith was born July 4, 1927 to Tom and Gladys (Johnson) Swinney in Decatur.  She was united in marriage to Kenneth Charles Huebner on June 7, 1945 in Boyd.  Edith retired from General Dynamics after 37 years of service as a chief clerk.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Boyd.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 68 years; and her sister, Barbara Luster.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Diann Williams of Surry, Virginia; her granddaughter, Amy Williams of Boyd; her sister, Tommie Gillespie of Boyd; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
