Azle~ Edward Braskell Bennett, 79, went to be with our Lord on Monday, February 12, 2024 in Azle.
Graveside Service is 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Greenwood Cemetery in Decatur. Family will receive friends 4:00-6:00 p.m. Friday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.
Edward AKA “Uncle Eddie and Homer” his family affectionally called him, was born on October 30, 1944 in Montgomery, Alabama. He was a Retired Machinist and Electrical Engineer for Pettibone Engineering, WesTrac Construction and General Electric. Edward was united in marriage to Frances Bennett in 1987 and together 20 years until her passing. He was an avid golfer who loved spending time on the course every chance he could and enjoyed his weekly family breakfast days at IHOP. Edward was a faithful Alabama Crimson Tide fan, “Roll Tide Roll”. He will be missed dearly by all those that knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Bennett.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his son, James L. Bennett and wife Katherine; his sisters, Mildred Hargrove of Lake Worth and Lou Bennett Harris of Prattville, Alabama; his brother, Tim Bennett of Lake Worth; his nieces, Lynn (Baby) Royal and husband Joe of Prattville, Alabama, Jackie (Myrtle) Soles of Azle, Juanita (A.G.) and husband Trey Cook of Azle, Virginia Hargrove; nephew, Tom Hargrove and wife Donna; numerous other nieces and nephews and a host of good friends.
