Edward Wayne Godfrey Sr.

Haslet ~ Edward Wayne Godfrey Sr., 71, a retired maintenance technician, went to be with our Lord Sunday, July 22, 2018 in Haslet.

Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Boyd.  Family will receive friends 12-2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Rev. Dave Elmer will officiate.

Edward was born March 14, 1947 to William and Anne (Strickland) Godfrey in Colombia, North Carolina.  He was united in marriage May 21, 1965 to Della Robinson in Yuma, Arizona.  Edward proudly served our country in the United States Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandson, Jessie Tacker; his great grandson, Samuel Edward Godfrey; his sister, Wendy Godfrey; and his brother, Ricky Godfrey.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 53 years, Della Godfrey of Haslet; his daughters, Ivy Barcus and husband Richard of Burleson, Sarah Tacker of Haslet, and Tamara Dolliver and husband Toma of Burleson; his son, Edward Wayne Godfrey Jr. of Lincoln City, Oregon; his grandchildren, Patrick McHenry, Robert Barcus, Joseph Godfrey, Becky Godfrey, Tracy Davis, Dee Lunsford, Shanaine Morgan, Sara Godfrey, Chris Watkins, and Jonathan Godfrey; his eight great grandchildren; his sister Julia K. Seaton and husband James of Fort Worth; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
