Edward Ray Meador

Rhome ~ Edward Ray Meador, 85, a loving husband, father, and grandfather went to be with our Lord Saturday, September 12, 2020.

Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 18, 2020 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Decatur with burial Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at DFW National Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Edward was born February 10, 1935 to Carl Edward and Clara Estell (Legg) Meador in Decatur, Texas.  He was united in marriage October 19, 1952 to Patsy Baker in Weatherford, Texas. Edward was a retired master electrician for Gold Coast Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada and a graduate of Decatur High School. He proudly served our country in the United States Air Force.

He was preceded in death by his parents; the love of his life his wife of over 63 years, Patsy Baker Meador; and his son, Ray Meador.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his grandsons, Michael Meador and wife Lizette of Las Vegas, Nevada, Carl Meador and fiancé April Sanderson of Rhome, Nicholas Meador and wife Miranda of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Clinton Hawk of Las Vegas, Nevada; his granddaughter, Kristy Meador and husband Robert Romero of Las Vegas, Nevada; 10 great-grandchildren; his sister, Mary Terry; his sister-in-law, Doris Ladd; his daughter-in-laws, Suzzette Edwards and Nann Meador; numerous extended family and a host of friends.
