Rhome: Edward B. "Buck" Moreland, 82, a retired machinist, went to be with our Lord, Tuesday, March 8, 2011 in Decatur.
Funeral service is 2 p.m., Saturday, March 12th at Rhome Church of Christ with Roy Deaver officiating. Interment: Aurora Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.
Pallbearers include Curt Moreland, Jon Moreland, Mark Moreland, Michael Moreland, Ray Steward, David Steward, Tom Dieter and Grant Dixon.
Buck was born May 19, 1928 in Loving, Texas to David and Grace (Williams) Moreland. He married Gladys LaVerne Jones on July 13, 1950 in Clovis, New Mexico. Buck was a member of the Rhome Church of Christ.
Left behind to cherish his memory is wife of 60 years, LaVerne Moreland of Rhome; daughter, Dequette Jones and husband, Bob of Minnesota; three sons, Max Moreland of Wilmington, North Carolina, Shawn Moreland and wife, Susan of Lumberton, Texas, Mark Moreland and wife, Pam of Rhome; eight grandsons, Curt, Jon, Mark, and Michael Moreland, Ray and David Steward, Tom Dieter and Grant Dixon; three granddaughters; Christine Reynolds, Nicole Mattox, Meghanne Murray; great grandchildren, Daisy, Avery, Dylan, Brooklynn, Madi, Cooper, Payton, and Myles; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Buck is preceded in death by his parents, grandson, and two sisters.
