E.L. Smith Jr. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- BOYD -- E.L. Smith Jr., 74, a farmer and rancher, died Tuesday, July 19, 2005, in Boyd. Funeral: 10 a.m. Friday at Aurora Baptist Church. Burial: Boyd Cemetery. E.L. was a lifelong resident of Boyd and a former governor of the Briar Moose Lodge. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Becky Fite; three sisters, Joyce Smith, Berniece Cagle and Imogene Wilbanks; and one brother, Charles Ray Smith. Survivors: His loving companion of 20 years, Mary of Boyd; daughters, ReDeanna Hines and husband, Alvin, of Rhome, Nancy Berry of Rhome and Bobbi Liles and husband, Mark, of Manteca, Calif.; stepchildren, Cathy, Ben and Lisa; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Jaunell Lane of New Orleans, La., and Ona Horn of Albuquerque, N.M.; brothers, Jackie and Ronnie Smith of Boyd and Billy Smith of Fort Worth; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
