Elbert passed peacefully at home on Nov.4,2021, surrounded by his loving family.
Elbert Coleman Milner, Sr was born in Dallas, Texas to Cyrus and Evalee Milner on April 9, 1936. He met Elizabeth Zorns at First Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas and they married and spent 53 happy years together.
Elbert attended Dallas schools and graduated from Madison Ave. He continued his education at SMU and UTA and graduated with a bachelors degree from UTA.
Elbert was proud of his children and grandchildren and enjoyed watching them grow up. He always took them to church. Elbert was raised in a Christian home and accepted Christ as his savior as a child.
Elbert enjoyed family camping trips, loved woodworking, reading and watching college football games. He read and collected many John Grisham books.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, and children Bert Milner, Jr., Annie Milner Allsbrooks, David Hopkins, and Ginny Dobson. Elbert was affectionately called “poppy” by his grandchildren, Wyatt Allsbrooks, Brody Allsbrooks, Coleman Milner, Alyssa Milner
And the “Dobson Nine” Brittian, Jordan, Kaitlyn, Christian, Madeline, Gretchen, Harrison, Autum and Reagan.
He is predeceased by his father and mother and brother, Tate Milner.
