Eldred "Dee" Arrington
August 13, 1927 — June 12, 2016
Runaway Bay ~ Dee Arrington, 88, an area fieldman in the oil and gas industry, went to be with our Lord Sunday, June 12, 2016 in Decatur.
Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with burial in East Bridgeport Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Dr. Craig Erb will officiate. Pallbearers include Terry Tucker, Rich Morris, Carson Arrington, Rocky Richardson, Justin West, and Tyler Stowe.
Dee was born on August 13, 1927 to Willie and Ocie (Burton) Arrington in Rotan, Texas. He was united in marriage to Betty Jo Frazier on December 6, 1947 in Stamford. Dee retired from Oxidental Oil and Gas after 33 years of service. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bridgeport, and the Masonic Lodge.
Dee was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Beverly Jean Arrington; his brothers, Alfred Arrington, and R.C. Arrington; his sisters, Willie Faye Laird, Orella Callaway, and Margret Mullins.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 68 years, Betty Jo Arrington of Runaway Bay; his son, Ronnie Arrington and fiancé Joan Decapio of Fort Worth; his daughter, Paula Arrington West and husband Michael of Longview; his son, Kent Arrington and wife Sue of Dallas; 12 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
