Elena nació el 2 de junio de 1935 a sus padres Feliciano y Francisca (Sustaita) Garcia en Jerez, Zacatecas, Mexico. Se unio en matrimonio con Silvestro el 20 de diciembre de 1952 en Jerez, Zacatecas. Fue una hija, hermana, tia, prima, y amiga amada a muchos que la extrañaran.

Fue precedida en la muerte por su hijo, Eden Vargas; su nieto, Anthony Vargas; y su hermana, Antonia Perez.

Los que se quedan atrás para atesorar su memoria son su esposo, Silvestre Vargas; si hijo, Rene Vargas, Heriberto Vargas, Juan Enrique Vargas, Amador Vargas, y Sesar Vargas; sus hijas, Adelina Vargas, y Martha Vargas; 22 nietos; bisnietos, y tataranietos; su hermana, Maria Garcia de Mexico; sus hermanos, Luterio Garcia y Vicente Garcia de Mexico; familia extendida, y amigos.

Decatur ~ Elena Garcia, 86, went to be with our Lord Thursday, October 21, 2021.

Mass of Christian Burial is 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Decatur. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur with Rosary at 7:00 p.m.

Elena was born June 2, 1935 to Feliciano and Francisca (Sustaita) Garcia in Palmas Altas, Jerez Zacatecas, Mexico. She was united in marriage December 20, 1952 to Silvestre Vargas in Jerez, Zacatecas. Elena was a beloved, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Eden Vargas; her grandson, Anthony Vargas; and her sister, Antonia Perez.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband, Silvestre Vargas; her sons, Rene Vargas, Heriberto Vargas, Juan Enrique Vargas, Amador Vargas, and Sesar Vargas; her daughters, Adelina Vargas, and Martha Vargas; 22 grandchildren; numerous great- grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; her sister, Maria Garcia of Mexico; her brothers, Luterio Garcia and Vicente Garcia of Mexico; extended Family members, and a host of friends.
