Ellis Gene Niblett, 79, of Sims, Arkansas (formerly Decatur) went to be with his Lord Sunday, May 26, 2024 in Sims, Arkansas.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 1, at Trinity Fellowship Church in Decatur with burial in Oaklawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers include David Brearly, Rafael Meraz, Kyle Reynolds, Tanner Lemmon, and Gabe Meraz. Honorary Pallbearer is Mike Dillard.
Gene was born on November 5, 1944 in Comanche, Oklahoma to Ernie and Marcia (Howard) Niblett. He married Mary Jane Johnson on September 19, 1963 in Gainesville, Texas and they celebrated 56 years of marriage together. Gene was a veteran of the Army Reserves. He owned and operated a cast stone manufacturing company for 30 plus years. His greatest passions in life were family, friends and the great outdoors where he was a avid hunter and fisherman.
He is preceded in death by his wife; his daughter, Susan Brooke Niblett; his parents; his sisters and a brother..
He is survived by his daughters, Kimberly Niblett and Stephanie Meraz; his son, Matthew Basham and wife Melissa; his grandchildren, Brooke Reynolds and husband Kyle, Tanner Lemmon, Greyson Lemmon, Macey Jane Lemmon, Julie Meraz, Gabe Meraz, and Marley Basham; great-granchildren, Brayden Baker, Bently Baker, Bryson Baker, Bodie Baker, Jackson Reynolds, Hudson Reynolds, and Cooper Lemmon; numerous extended family and a host of friends
