Ellon Faye (Kaker) Tackel
July 1, 1921 — June 19, 2016
Ellon Faye Tackel, 94, of Paradise went to be with the Lord Sunday, June 19, 2016 in Bridgeport.
Funeral is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday June 21, 2016 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with burial in East Bridgeport Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at Hawkins Funeral Home.
Faye was born on July 1, 1921 to Tom and Virginia "Golaz" Kaker in Paradise. She was united in marriage to William A. Tackel on April 12, 1941 in Bridgeport until his passing on March 12, 1973. Faye was a member of The First Christian Church in Paradise. She loved watching and coaching the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Mavericks.
Pallbearers include Matt Tackel, Wes Partin, Brandon Young, Wyatt Tackel, Danny Taylor, and Clayton Taylor.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William; her daughter, Sandra Tackel; her son, Danny Tackel; her daughter in law, Ruth Tackel; her brothers and sisters, Garner Kaker, Lomas Kaker, Orlin Kaker, Velma Harris, Zeta Smith, Marie Fitzgerald, Dora Shephard, and Melvin Kaker.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, David Tackel and wife Carol of Fort Worth, Ronnie Tackel of Paradise, Billy Tackel and wife Karen of Paradise, and Clinton Tackel and wife Donna of Paradise; her daughter, Sherri Stockton and husband Mike of Bridgeport; her grandchildren, DeAnn, Jarrod, Chasiti, Wes, Matt, Whitnee, Brandon, and Wyatt; 7 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild; her sister, Mildred Wiest of Fort Worth; her sisters in law, Emma Dean Beaty, Betty Tackel, and Audrey Russell; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends.
