BOYD---- Elmer T. Montgomery, 83, a retired machine inspector for Bell Helicopter and a rancher went to be with our Lord Sunday, December 19, 2010, in Fort Worth.

Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Chapel in Boyd. Burial: Pleasant Grove Cemetery #3. Family to receive friends 9:30 a.m. Wednesday before the service.

The Reverend Gary Sessions will officiate. Pallbearers: Mark Landers, Joseph Tye, Josh Smith, Donald Montgomery, Matthew Montgomery, and Justin Kent. Honorary Pallbearer: Phillip Bullard.

Elmer was born January 9, 1927, to Andrew Jackson and Minnie (Key) Montgomery in Bellwood, Louisiana. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was a member of the American Legion and the WWII Veterans Museum.

Elmer was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn, one brother, one sister, and a son-in-law.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his sons, Steve Montgomery and wife Sharon of Grand Prairie, Ronald Montgomery and wife Sharon of Decatur; his daughters, Barbara Lee and husband Charles of Coppell, Joyce Tucker of Fort Worth; 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; his brothers, Andy Montgomery, Emery Lee Montgomery; his sister, Evon Graves; other relatives and a host of friends.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Disabled Veterans Association, the American Cancer Society, or the Pleasant Grove #3 Cemetery Association.
