Elmer Nelson Wells

Greenwood ~ Elmer N. Wells, 88, went to be with our Lord Wednesday, February 22, 2023.

Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Greenwood Baptist Church in Wise County with burial at Greenwood Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8:00 p.m. Friday at the church.

Elmer was born June 24, 1934 to Elmer and Ruth (Day) Wells in Brownwood, Texas. He was united in marriage July 25, 1956 to JoAnn Burrows in Concord, California. Elmer was retired after many years in the agriculture manufacturing industry, and proudly served our country in the United States Navy. He was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, brother, and friend to many who will dearly miss him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Ruth Wells; his wife, JoAnn Wells, and a brother, Elton Wells of Brownwood.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his daughters, Bridget McBee and husband Bruce of Lubbock, Dawn Shepherd and husband Steve of Gainesville, Tura Mankins and husband Scott of Longview, and Tracy Kaiser and husband Ward of Fort Valley, Georgia; his son, Nelson Wells and wife Cindy of Greenwood; 13 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; his brothers, Reggie Wells of Brownwood, and Joe Wells of Burleson; his sister, Carolyn Rohrer of Youngsville, North Carolina; numerous extended family members and a host of friends.
