Elsie Lee (Davidson) Sampson

Boyd ~ Elsie Lee Sampson, 95, passed away peacefully, March 1, 2022 in Weatherford, Texas.

Funeral is 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur with burial at Dido Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers include Blake Martin, Austin Eddleman, Jeremmy McEntire, Jonas McEntire, Jerred McEntire, Jaxx McEntire. Honorary pallbearer is Adissen McEntire.

Elsie was born November 15, 1926 to Ellison “Pete” and Sally Lillian (Atkins) Davidson in Anna, Texas She was united in marriage December 20, 1950 to Daniel Thomas Sampson in Anna, Texas. Elsie loved to bake and garden . She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, cousin, aunt, and friend to many who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Sampson; her son, Tommy Ray Sampson; 4 brothers, John Wayne Davidson, Billy Don Davidson, Ellison “Red” Davidson, and E.J. Davidson; 1 sister, Mary Herron.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her sons, Steve Sampson and wife Laquetta of Decatur, and Tommy Sampson and wife Tammette of Rhome; her daughter, Carolyn McEntire and husband Jerry of Boyd; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; her brothers, Jimmy Davidson and wife Nelda, and James Davidson; her sisters, Helen Dunn, Patsy Young and husband Joe of Van Alstyne, and Peggy Ros; numerous extended family members, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
