Erna Una Willingham

Boyd ~ Erna Una Willingham, 90, went to be with our Lord Saturday, February 16, 2019, in Boyd.

Funeral service is 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 23, 2019, at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Boyd with interment to follow in Boyd Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Erna was born February 23, 1928, to Robert D. and Jimmie Carson Henderson in Joplin, Texas. Erna graduated from Jacksboro High School, and then Ogle Beauty School in 1945. She was united in marriage to Orval Lynch Willingham in 1947 and settled in Boyd. Erna owned and operated her own beauty shop in Boyd for over 20 years before retiring with her husband in 1988. She was active with her family and community. Erna loved to paint, garden, sew, make crafts, and watch the Texas Rangers and Dallas Mavericks. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, daughter, and friend and will be missed by many.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Orval Willingham; her son, Dr. Rick Willingham; her brother, Bob Dee Henderson; her sister, Ruth Franks; and her parents.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Judy Russell and husband Robert A. Jr. of Boyd; her grandchildren, Alexis Willingham, Kate Tsai, Megan Russell, Victoria McCall, Callie Willingham, and Robert C. Russell; her great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Nolan, Samantha, Jackson, Madison, Ethan, Carson, and Dorothy; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
