Springtown ~ Ernest Lee Lingle, 91, went to be with our Lord Sunday, January 13, 2013 in Bridgeport.
Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 18, 2013 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport with burial in Poolville Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Rev. Doug Harris will officiate. Pallbearers include Darrell Lingle, Danny Lingle, Michael Lingle, Bubba Lingle, Kenneth Bobbitt, and John Lingle.
Ernest was born on January 24, 1921 to Emory and Minnie (Martin) Lingle in Texline, Texas. He was united in marriage to Lydia who preceded him in death in 1999. Ernest served his country in the Coast Guard. He was a retired assembly line worker for General Dynamics.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his brothers, William Farris Lingle, and Wayne Lingle; and his sisters, Tella Ruth Bettis and Lucille Faye Gilland.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his sisters, Betty Almon of Fort Worth, Imo Gene Hutsell of Fort Worth, Annie Mae Reynolds of Fort Worth; his brothers, Bill Lingle of Connelly Springs, North Carolina and Martin Dale Lingle of Florine, Louisiana; other family members and a host of friends.
