Ernest Reyes "Pancho" Rodriguez

Boyd ~ Ernest Reyes “Pancho” Rodriguez, 81, went to be with our Lord Sunday, November 18, 2018, in Boyd.

Mass of Christian burial is 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 24, 2018, at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Decatur with burial in Boyd Cemetery. Rosary is 6:00 p.m. Friday at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Boyd.

Father Reehan Antony will officiate. Pallbearers include Cruz R. Montes, Ernest Rodriguez Jr., Cruz M. Montes, Anthony Rodriguez, Roberto Montes, and Douglas Smith.

Ernest was born on October 27, 1937, to Vidal and Erminia (Reyes) Rodriguez in Campbellton, Texas. He was united in marriage to Martha Jakes on September 13, 1998, in Boyd. Ernest retired as a welder. He was a member of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Decatur.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Raymond Rodriguez; and his sister, Elma Garcia.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 20 years, Martha Rodriguez of Boyd; his daughter, Tracy Rodriguez of Garland; his son, Ernest Rodriguez Jr. of Fort Worth; his daughters, Lisa Smith and husband Douglas of Fort Worth, and Silvia Moen and husband Bruce of Cleburne; his granddaughters, Marcelia Rodriguez of Fort Worth, and Isabel Blankenship of Grady; his grandson, Anthony Rodriguez and wife Katie; his granddaughter, Brieann Ball of Kearns; his grandsons, Erick Moen and wife Stephanie of El Segundo, California, and Isaac Moen of Fort Worth; his great-grandsons, Michael Powell, Rayne, Brayden, and Bentley Rodriguez; his great-granddaughter, Serenity Powell; his brothers, Martias Rodriguez and wife Mary of Coleman, Richard Rodriguez and wife Annie of Brush, Colorado, Mike Rodriguez of Hobbs, New Mexico, Henry Rodriguez of Abilene, and Leonard Rodriguez and wife Martina of Hobbs, New Mexico; his sisters, Anna Flores of Rule, and Margaret Ribera and husband Jesse of Hamlin; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
