Bridgeport ~ Ernest “Hugh” Sanders, 85, a bricklayer and business owner, went to be with our Lord Tuesday, May 3, 2016 in Decatur.
Memorial service is 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Rev. Gary Sessions will officiate.
Hugh was born on January 30, 1931 to Jessie and Ethel (Lawson) Sanders in Pecos, Texas. He was united in marriage to Mary Jo on December 3, 1951 in Rockwall. Hugh owned and operated Sanders Masonry Construction. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Jo Sanders; and his brother, J.P. Sanders.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his son, Mike Sanders and wife Ginger of Fort Worth; his daughters, Diana Tucker and husband Bobbie of Alvord, Sherri Sanders of Bridgeport; his grandchildren, Brandon Sanders and wife Melissa, Nicole Castill and husband Manny, Justin Sanders, Ryan Sanders, and Halee Newton; his great-grandchildren, Connor, Caidyn, Alyana, and Braxton; his sister, Eloise Vinson and husband Johnny of Rhome; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members, and a host of friends.
