Ernest Alvin "Buddy" Wright

Bridgeport ~ Ernest Alvin "Buddy" Wright, 89, went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 in Bridgeport.

Funeral Service is 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 4th, 2022 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport with burial in West Bridgeport Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Rev. Rick Davis will officiate. Pallbearers are George Wright, Jimmy Wright, Josh Andresen, and Zachary Kimbrell.

Ernest was born on August 20th, 1933 to Benny Frank and Nelle Earnest (Blase) Wright in Fairview, Texas. He was a retired helicopter manufacturer for Bell Helicopter. Ernest was united in marriage to Betty Lou Green on June 6, 1952 in Rhome and were together almost 66 years until her passing on March 9, 2018.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty Wright; his grandson, Justin Bush; and two sisters, Jean Splawn and Dorothy Fennell.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his sons, George Wright and friend Julie Bakke of Denton, Jimmy Wright and wife Jean of Lufkin; his grandson, Chris Wright and wife Marcie of Bowie; great-grandchildren, Taya Andresen and husband Josh of Alvord, Rachael Boring and husband Bryce of San Angelo, Shauna Marshall and husband Thane of Blair, Nebraska and Zac Kimbrell of Bowie; his great-great-grandchildren, Riley, Noah, Brantley, Garrett, Raelynn and Jolene; his sister, Linda Smith and husband Gilbert; and numerous extended family members and friends.
