Bridgeport ~ Ernesto Piñon, 75, a retired welder, went to be with our Lord Wednesday, August 26, 2020 in Decatur.
Mass of Christian Burial is 12:00 p.m. Saturday, August 29, 2020 at St. John the Baptizer Catholic Church with burial in East Bridgeport Cemetery. Rosary is 7:00 p.m. Friday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.
Father Reehan Soosai Antony will officiate. Pallbearers include Cesar Piñon, Ernesto Piñon, Jr., James Piñon, Fernando Serrano, Ernesto Piñon III, Christian Serrano, Nathan Badillo, and Jorge Contreras.
Ernesto was born on October 16, 1944 to Domingo and Maria (Manzano) Piñon in Zaragoza, Mexico. He was united in marriage to Rosa Amelia Ayala on June 15 1965 in Zaragoza, Mexico. Ernesto was a member of St. John the Baptizer Catholic Church, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Socorro Piñon.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 54 years, Rosa Piñon of Bridgeport; his sons, Cesar Piñon and wife Tammy of Azle, Ernesto Piñon, Jr. and Sandra of Waco; his daughters, Maria DeLourdes Serrano and husband Mario of Hurst, Rosa Irene Badillo and husband Danny of Fort Worth, Martha Piñon of Burleson, Lupi Piñon of San Antonio, Ernestina Cortez and husband Mark of Bridgeport; 18 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, Domingo Piñon, Hector Piñon, and Jesus Piñon; his sisters, Tere Piñon, Josefina Piñon, Maria Elena Perales, and Sonia Herrera; numerous nieces , nephews, and a host of friends.
