Esperanza "Hope" Garza

Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 6, 2014 at Pleasant View Baptist Church with burial in Mexican Cemetery. Family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Hawkins Funeral Home.

Rev. Gary Dimmitt will officiate. Pallbearers include Jacob Luevanos, Jesus Rodriquez, Jonathan Garza, Anthony Scott Smith, Oscar Luevanos, Ralla Hankins, Jr. Sparks, Braden Liner, Reynal Garza, and Ruben James Dunlap.

Hope was born on June 23, 1949 to Frank and Victoria (Casillas) Martinez in Bridgeport. She was united in marriage to Lorenzo Garza on May 8, 1970 in Waurika, Oklahoma.

Hope was preceded by her parents; her son, Ray Garza; her son-in-law, Leonard Eugene Dunlap; her brothers, George, Raymond, Johnny, and Phillip Martinez; and her sister, Josie Cantu.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband, Lorenzo Garza Sr. of Bridgeport; her son, Lorenzo "Dirt" Garza Jr. and wife Lisa of Bridgeport; her daughters, Cynthia Rodriquez and Felix Mendoza of Fort Worth, Maria Garza and husband Randall Smith of Bridgeport, Cecilia "CiCi" Liner of Fort Worth, Veronica Garza Perez of Fort Worth, and Guadalupe Martinez and husband Carlos Sr. of Fort Worth; 20 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; her brothers, Anselmo Martinez and wife Guadelupe, Daniel Martinez and Bobby Martinez; her sisters, Carmen Cox and husband Eddie, Connie Rodriquez and husband Raul, Carol Martinez, Paula Martinez, and Lilly Pena and husband John; other family members and a host of friends.
