CHICO -- Essie Lou Grisham, 93, a homemaker went to be with our Lord on Sunday, December 14, 2008 in Bridgeport.

Funeral: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bible Baptist Church in Bridgeport. Burial: Chico Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Rev. Larry Potts will officiate, assisted by Dr. Dale Webster. Pallbearers: Bobby Carpenter, Larry McDaniel, Josh McDaniel, Rick Reed, Ricky Read, and Wayne Mask.

Essie was born on October 23, 1915 in Wise County, the daughter of Richard and Florence (Sanders) McDaniel. She was a homemaker. Essie was a member of the Bible Baptist Church for numerous years until her health started failing and she joined the First Baptist Church in Chico. She was a member of the Chico 42 Club and the Chico Quilting Club.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Quannah Ward and Elbert Grisham; sons, Milard Ray, Jimmy Dow, and Harold Darwin Ward; great grandchildren, Melissa Gayle Robinson and Colby Alexander Brown; sisters, Pearl Martin, Artie May Weatherly, Gwen Parsons, and Bernice Dixson; brothers, H.R., Cecil, James (Jim), Murph, Don, and Leon McDaniel;

Left behind to cherish her memory is: her grandchildren, Tonya Ward, Tami Ward, Traci Brown, Eddie Ray Ward and wife Lisa, Diana Tiller and husband Raymond, and Melissa York; great grandchildren: Drew and Derrick Ward, Tamara and Dakota Williams, Hunter, Alli, and Tanner York, and Jordan Brown; sisters, Ann Deaton, Cora Beth Read, Bess Bode, Janice Garrett; brother, Jack McDaniel and wife Evelyn.
