Ester Bell (Pretty Mamma) Tackett

Decatur ~ Ester Bell "Pretty Mamma" Tackett, 83, a retired customer service clerk, went to be with our Lord Tuesday May 31, 2016 in Decatur.

Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Friday June 3, 2016 at First Baptist Church in Boyd with burial in Boyd Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home.

Rev. James Hurst and Rev. Jeff Tackett will officiate.  Pallbearers include Robbie Wooley, Matthew Wooley, Shane Tackett, James Levingston Tackett, Smitty Grubbs, Anthony Delgado, Tony Gibbs Tackett and Casey Tackett. Honorary pallbearers are Carl David Tackett, and Kennith Earl McCauley.

Ester was born November 13, 1932 to David and Letha (Read) Smith in Boyd.  She was united in marriage to Silas Marion Tackett on March 2, 1951 in Boyd.  Ester was a member of the Abundant Life Worship Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Silas, on May 17, 1997; her daughter, Kathryn Gaskill Delgado; her son, Ricky Wayne Tackett; her great grandson, Jonathan Simpson; her parents; and her sisters, Viola Wilson, Ruby Vincent and Eva Mae Burgess.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughters, Marlene Wooley and husband Bill of Boyd, Beverly Grubbs and husband Garry of Boyd; her sons, Steve Tackett and wife Connie of Paradise, Rocky Tackett and wife Margaret of Paradise, Mike Tackett and wife Carla of Decatur; 16 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; her sisters, Margie Bell and husband Bo of Granbury, and Lizzie Clark of Bedford; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
