Funeral service is 11 a.m. Saturday, November 15th at the Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Ronnie Williams officiating. Family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service.
Pallbearers are Kelly Jeffrey, Tony Hill, Ray Huse, Joe Francis, Jessie Francis, Dwight Trotter.
Ettie was born November 19, 1912 to Ezra and Addie Marshall Simmons in Aurora, Texas. She married O.B. Jeffrey in 1930. During World Ward II, Billie worked at Consolidated as a Rosie the Riverter and then at the age of 50 went on to become a nurse, which was her profession until retirement. Billie was an avid fisherman and loved working in her vegetable garden.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her daughters, Margaret (Maggie) Hill and husband Ted of Greenville, Jeannie Jeffrey of Greenville; son, Jeff Jeffrey of Rockport; sisters, Ester Roper of Rhome, Bonnie Keen of Arlington; 11 grandchildren, Kelly Jeffrey of Weatherford, Kim Massey and husband, Mark of Bedford; Tony Hill and wife, Linda of Whitehouse, Texas; Tracey Hill of Grapevine; Tammy Sisto and husband Vito of Greenville; Kathy Wallace and husband, Burch, Dwight Trotter and wife, Robin, Darwin Trotter, Delma Trotter, and Candance Pierce and husband Paul; and 10 great grandchildren.
Billie was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters and 3 brothers. Also preceded her were her husband, O.D. Jeffrey; her second husband, Fred Doyle and daughter, Barbara (Sammy) Trotter.
