Euell "Gale" Rackley

Chico ~Euell “Gale” Rackley, 72, of Chico, went to be with our Lord on Monday, December 19, 2022 in Decatur.

Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 28th, 2022 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport with burial in Chico Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are to include, Cody Barlow, Jared Steinkamp, Brian Williams, Trey Watts, Mikel Watts, Rick O’Dell, Joe Campbell, James Kittrell, Joe Jackson, and John Brooks. Honorary Pallbearers are to include, Tyler Rackley, Chad Rackley, Stephen Privitt, Ross Privitt,  Shane Rackley, and Sean Watts.

Gale was born on July 27, 1950 to Odis Euell Rackley and Elsie Monroe Rackley in Burneyville, Oklahoma.  He proudly served his country and joined the Army shortly after graduating high school in 1969 and retired in 2010 as a E8 First Sergeant. Gale was also a 33rd Degree Scottish Rite Shriner and Mason.

Gale’s pride and joy was his title of Papa to his 12 grandchildren and one great-grandson. Spoiling them and spending time with them meant so much to him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Odis Euell Rackley and Elsie Virginia Sampler; his son, Chad Rackley; and his son-in-law, Eric Branch.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his daughter, Lizzy Tizzy “Elizabeth” Watts Branch of Joshua; his son, Scott E. Rackley and wife Melissa of Andover, Kansas; his daughter, Cassie “Lou” Privitt and husband Daniel “Big D” of Benbrook; his daughter-in-law, Lorenda Rackley;  his grandchildren, Trey, Sean, and Mikel Watts, Reaghan, Emma, Ashleigh, Shane, Erin, Chad, and Tyler Rackley, Stephen and Ross Privitt; his great-grandchild, Braxton Lee Watts; his brother, Phil Rackley of Oklahoma; his sister, Renee Barlow of Decatur; numerous extended family members and a host of friends.
