Bridgeport ~ Eva Beatrice Read, 60, owner of Southern Wise Times, went to be with our Lord Tuesday, May 24, 2016 in Bridgeport.
Funeral is 3:00 p.m. Thursday, May 26, 2016 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with burial in East Bridgeport Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Rev. Matt Edwards will officiate. Pallbearers include Mike Phelps, Taylor Phelps, Brenton Read, Robbie Moore, Dan Konz, and Will Claunch. Honorary pallbearers are Duane Collier, and Mark Moody.
Eva was born on March 5, 1956 to Alfred and Betty (Fletcher) Lawson in Duncan, Oklahoma. She was united in marriage to Dickie Read Sr. on August 20, 1977 in Bowie. Eva was a member of the Cates Street Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 38 years, Dickie Read of Bridgeport; her sons, D.J. Read Jr. and wife Danae of Bridgeport, Chris Read and wife Melissa of Decatur; her grandchildren, Taylor, Brenton, Katelyn, Cooper, Olivia, and Dillon; and a host of friends.
