BRIDGEPORT -- Evelyn Davidson, 81, a homemaker, died Saturday, March 10, 2007, in Bridgeport. Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Pleasant View Baptist Church with burial in Tucker Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport. Mrs. Davidson was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, W.H. "Buddy" Davidson; brothers, Everett and Bob Tucker; sisters, Nell and Bessie Glidewell, Sarah New and Zona Wallace; grandchildren, Melanie Davidson, Jeffrey Davidson and Chance Wood; and her parents, Charlie J. and Ida Young Tucker. Evelyn was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. Survivors: Daughters, Glenda Freeman of Sunset, Jane Wood and husband Kenneth of Crafton and Joyce Wood and husband Roger of Bowie; sons, Welton Davidson Jr. and friend Betty of Bridgeport, Wayne Davidson and wife Judy of Chico and Royce Davidson of Bridgeport; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; brother Jake Tucker and wife Marie of Kerns; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and a host of friends.
