Evelyn Louise Hodgkins

Boyd ~ Evelyn Louise Hodgkins, 86, a retired bookkeeper, went to be with our Lord Tuesday February 25, 2020 in Decatur.

Funeral is 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 28, 2020 at Boyd Church of Christ with burial in Boyd Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the church.

Bro. Craig Jordan will officiate. Pallbearers include Damian Delgado, Jacob Delgado, Marcus Delgado, Marty Cain, Cade Hodgkins, Donny Hodgkins, Jered Hodgkins, Bryson Cain, Morgan Cain, Colton Hodgkins, and Carson Hodgkins.

Evelyn was born on October 3, 1933 to Henry Ausborn “H.A.” and Lydia Alma (Weeks) Goode in Hollis, Oklahoma. She was united in marriage to Weldon Dale Hodgkins on October 29, 1951 in Lake Worth, Texas. Evelyn was a member at Boyd Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Weldon Dale Hodgkins; her son, Melvin Hodgkins’ her grandson, Dustin Roy Hodgkins; and 2 brothers, Ken and Melvin Goode.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Peggy Wooldridge of Boyd; 2 sons, Don Hodgkins and wife Kathleen of Bridgeport, and Glen Hodgkins and wife Donna of Boyd; 6 grandchildren, Sharon Delgado, Marty Cain, Heather Hodgkins, Donny Hodgkins, Cade Hodgkins, and Jered Hodgkins; 13 great - grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; her sister, Virginia Meyer of Darrouzett; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
