Evelyn Newberry

Decatur – Evelyn Christine Newberry, 77 went to be with our Lord Monday, January 2, 2023 in Decatur.

Funeral is10 a.m.  Saturday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd. Family will receive friends, Friday 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pastor Doug Acklie will officiate. Pallbearers will be Patrick Newberry, Richard Newberry, Justin Newberry, Chris Newberry,  Chad Huddleston, and Bill Huddleston.

Evelyn was born January 20, 1945, to Johnnie and Flora (Arrington) Early in Decatur, Texas at Rogers Hospital. She was united in marriage to Charles Newberry June 29, 1962 in Boyd, Texas. Evelyn was a housewife and a member of Pleasant Grove # 2 church and attended Boyd High School.

She is preceded in death by her parents Johnny and Flora Early; brother, Johnnie Early; 2 sisters, Roberta Newton and Helen Huddleston.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 60 years, Charles Newberry; 2 sons, Patrick Newberry and wife Sallie of Decatur, and Richard Newberry and wife Christie of Decatur; 4 grandchildren, Justin, Emilie, Amanda and Chris; 3 great grandchildren Madilynn, Cooper and Montana; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
