Bridgeport ~ Exie Louise Whatley, 88, a retired dispatcher and homemaker, went to be with our Lord Wednesday, November 4, 2015 in Bridgeport.
Funeral is 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Cumby Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Rev. Gary Demmitt and Bill Thetford will officiate. Pallbearers include Danny Cary, Leland Whatley, Jay Caraway, Fred Begley, Allen Spikes, and Raymundo Hernandez.
Exie was born on November 25, 1926 to Charlie and Minnie (Perkins) Harvick in El Dorado, Oklahoma. She was united in marriage to Jim Whatley on July 7, 1945 in Decatur. Exie worked as a dispatcher for the Bridgeport police department and the Wise County Sheriff’s Office before her retirement.
She was preceded in death by his parents; and her husband, Jim Whatley.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are numerous nieces and nephews cousins, extended family and a host of friends.
