Faye (Maxey) Howerton

Alvord ~ Faye Howerton, 79, a retired bookkeeper, went to be with our Lord Monday, December 28, 2015 in Decatur.
Graveside service is 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 31, 2015, at Alvord Cemetery in Alvord, Texas. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home.
Rev. Bill Cleveland will officiate. Pallbearers include Benny Simmons, Donny Lawson, Ricky Peden, Ricky Allen, Larry Howell, and Allen Murphy.
Faye was born on June 28, 1936 to Alfred and Mabel (Spinks) Maxey in Austin, Texas. She was united in marriage to Albert Wayne “Bud” Howerton in July, 1948 in Gainesville until his passing. Faye retired from Pac A Sac after 20 years of service. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Alvord.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, “Bud” Howerton.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her sons, Kenneth Howerton and wife Mona of Sunset, and Kevin Howerton and wife Celina of Paradise; her daughter, Terri Freeman and husband Marlon of Alvord; her sister, Dorothy Tomerlin of San Angelo; her granddaughters, Paige, Hailey, Jayne, Wendi, Allyson, Rylee, and Kaycie; 7 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
