Felix David Lajara, 85, of Decatur passed away Monday, July 15th, 2024.
Felix was born February 2nd, 1939 in the Dominican Republic, to Juan Lajara and Mercedes Romero Lajara. Felix was the youngest of seven children, 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
After graduating High School, he played Minor League Baseball. He then joined the Air Force and served from 1959 to 1964, where he gained his license as an Aircraft Mechanic.
His career as an Aircraft Mechanic, spanned over 33 years, the majority of that time employed by American Airlines, where he retired at the age of 58 years old.
Felix had a passion for Baseball, Golf and a trip to the Casino for a card game or to pull a handle on a slot machine!
He was preceded in death by his wife Linda of 53 years, and daughter, Lori Lajara White.
Those left behind to cherish him are sons, David Lajara, Lance Lajara, Lindsey Armstrong and wife Lisa, daughter Tracy Armstrong Woolley, his Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, extended family members and friends.
