Filomena (Cabrera) Vera

Filomena Vera,96, went to be with our Lord Sunday, July 14th, 2024 in Ft. Worth, Texas.

Funeral is 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 19th, 2024 at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur with burial at Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Gerre Joiner will officiate. Pallbearers include Fidel Che Escamilla, Diego Martinez, Anthony Escamilla, Michael Vera, Jerome Vera, and Eric Guillermo.

Filomena was born February 29th, 1928 to Lucas and Filomena (DeLuna) Cabrera in Goliad, Texas. She was united in marriage June 6th, 1945 to Timoteo Vera in Goliad, Texas. Filomena was a beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend to many who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Timoteo Vera.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughters, Elva Escamilla & husband Fidel of Ft. Worth, and Louise Guillermo of Ft. Worth, Amparo Lopez & husband Luis of Angleton, and Jordana Martinez & husband Ruben of Stockdale; her sons, Tim Vera & wife Junko of Decatur, and Robert Vera of Bridgeport; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family and a host of friends.
