CHICO -- Finis Workman, 71, went to be with our Lord on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008, at his home in Chico.
Funeral Service: 11 a.m. Monday at Hawkins Funeral Chapel. Burial: Chico Cemetery. Family will receive friends: 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday.
Rev. Van Gardner and Rev. Fred Ferren will officiate. Pallbearers: David Harless, Monty Graham, Eugene Grooms, Dan Stack, G.A. Buckner, Audie Morris, Russell Black, and Tom Ferguson. Honorary Pallbearers will be other Masonic Lodge Members.
Finis was born on May 18, 1937, the son of Green and Maggie Opal (Pyeatt) Workman in Decatur. He married Mildred Welch on June 1, 1956 in Bowie. Finis was a retired metal bonder at Bell Helicopter. He was a member of the Central Baptist Church in Bowie. He was a Mason at Chico and a Scottish Rite Shriner.
Left behind to cherish his memory is: his wife of 52 years, Mildred Workman of Chico; his daughters, Trena Morris and husband, Wayne of Chico, Karen Hunt and husband, Stephen of Decatur; his sons, David Workman and wife, Deborah of Chico, Terry Workman and wife, Lisa of Chico; 10 grandchildren: Tiffany, Kristin, Rachel, Stacy, Kelly, Kimberly, Wesley, Christopher, Angela, and Britton; and one great-grandson, William.
