Decatur: Florence Lucetta Ward, 70, a homemaker, went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 in Decatur.
Funeral service is 1 p.m. Saturday, March 21st at the Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Ken May officiating. Interment will be in Oaklawn Cemetery following the service. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Shawn Ward, Andy Ward, Brandon Ward, Jansen Ward, Cory Cox, and Dustin Rogers.
Florence was born April 28, 1938 in Cleveland, Ohio to Charles and Florence Lucetta (Seik) Butcher. She married Cecil Edward Ward on November 12, 1955 in Cleveland. She retired from Seicor-Corning, Inc. in 1992 and was a member of the Harvest Baptist Church in Keller, Texas.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 53 years, Cecil Edward Ward of Decatur; two sons, Mark Allen Ward and wife, Karen of Friendswood, Texas, Michael Arden Ward and wife, Stacy of Roanoke, Texas; daughter, Melinda Anne Burkhart and husband, Randy of Decatur; nine (9) grandchildren, Shawn Ward and wife, Amy, Jennifer Cox and husband, Cory, Andy Ward and wife, Terah, Cody Burkhart and wife, Jodi, Brandon Ward, Erin Ward, Jansen Ward, Mindy Burkhart, and Katye Shook; six (6) great grandchildren, Dustin, Garrett, Carleigh, Raleigh, Brennan and Jolea; brother, Dick Butcher of Akron, Ohio.
Florence is preceded in death by her brothers, Bob and Johnny Butcher.
