PARADISE -- Floyd Fuqua, 84, retired Paradise postmaster, went to be with our Lord Thursday, 22, 2010 in Decatur.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Paradise. Interment: Paradise Cemetery. The Reverend Don Caldwell to officiate. Pallbearers: Randy Potter, Cayson Wilson, Brandon Black, Ray Alford, Jimmy Begeman and Barry Begeman.
Floyd was born March 1, 1926 to Leveland and Jessie (Robertson) Fuqua in Paradise. He married Ruby Dunn on July 10, 1954 in Decatur. She preceded him in death along with a son, James Ward and 2 brothers, Homer and Otho Fuqua. Floyd was a member of the Wise County Veterans group and the First Baptist Church in Paradise.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his sons, Kenneth Fuqua and his wife Cristy of Paradise, Frank Fuqua of Paradise; 4 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
