Boyd ~ Flugencio Santos Hernandez, 90, a retired heavy equipment operator, went to be with our Lord Friday, November 3, 2017 in Decatur.
Funeral is 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Boyd with interment in Boyd Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Alfred Martinez will officiate. Pallbearers are Daniel Hernandez Jr., Guy Ebner, Ralph Hernandez, Mario Hernandez, Bobby Hernandez, Joe Canales, Bobby Hernandez, and Alfred Martinez.
Flugencio was born April 15, 1927 to Flugencio and Micaela (Santos) Hernandez in Pearsall, Texas. He was united in marriage on June 10, 1949 to Maria Anita Trevino in Jourdanton, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Mario Hernandez; his brother Santiago Hernandez; and his granddaughter, Roseanne Hernandez.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 68 years, Maria Hernandez of Boyd; his daughter, Dalia Hernandez of Fort Worth, his son, Flugencio Hernandez of Boyd; his son, Daniel Hernandez Sr. of Boyd; his daughter, Lydia Hernandez of Boyd; his son, Roy Garcia of Knox City; his 17 grandchildren; his 41 great grandchildren; his 15 great-great grandchildren; numerous relatives and a host of friends.
