Forrest Cooper Lemond

Weatherford~ Forrest Cooper Lemond, 88, went to be with our Lord on Sunday, October 31, 2021 in Weatherford.

Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 4th, 2021 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport. Family will receive friends 6-7 p.m. Wednesday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.

Dr. Tom Merritt will officiate. Pallbearers are to include Tracy Nix, Paul Lemond, Kelly Nix, Colt Lemond, Jason Lemond, Forrest Allen Lemond and Jared Lemond.

Forrest was born on September 18, 1933 to Clark and Anna Ruth (Cooper) Lemond in Jack County, Texas. He was a veteran and proudly served our Country in the U.S. Army. Forrest owned and operated the Texaco service station for many years. He was united in marriage to June Yale on August 9, 1952 in Austin, Texas. Forrest was a member of the Crafton Baptist Church and he was a Master Mason and longtime member of the Masonic Lodge in Chico No. 508 and Lodge No. 931 in Ralls, Texas, serving faithfully since 1963.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Thomas Allen Lemond; his grandson, Kevin Brent Lemond; his sister, Anna Armontrout; his brothers, Phares Lemond, Howard Lemond, Kenneth Lemond, Maurice Lemond, and Thurman Lemond.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 69 years, June (Yale) Lemond of Weatherford; his daughter Linda Colleen Nix of Weatherford; his sons, Forrest Michael Lemond and wife Donna of Yantis, Texas and William Kevin Lemond and wife Sheila of Alvord; his daughter-in-law, Christy Lemond Gilbreath of Weatherford; his grandchildren, Tracy Nix, Kelly Nix, Jaclyn Rodriguez, Angie English, Jason Lemond, Paul Lemond, Colt Lemond, Audra Sharp, April Lane, Forrest Allen Lemond, Jared Lemond, Kathy Martinez, Logan Hatcher, Chaz Hatcher, and Derek Hatcher; 30 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great grandchildren with 2 on the way; his brother, J.C. Lemond of Leander, Texas; numerous extended family members and a host of friends.
