PARADISE -- Foy Brown, 95, went to be with our Lord on Sunday, Oct. 12, 2008 in Paradise.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hawkins Funeral Chapel. Burial: Paradise Cemetery. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Tuesday.
Bro. Sam Starr and Bro. Jimmy Williams will officiate. Pallbearers: Robert Crawford, Thomas Fitzgerald, Jack Richardson, Dean Meadows, Harold Read, and Randal Morehead. Honorary Pallbearer: Virgil Oates.
Foy was born on February 26, 1913, the son of Joe and Frances (Matzinger) Brown in Paradise. He was the retired owner of Brown Barber Shop in Bridgeport. He married Shirley Burdick on January 5, 1973 in Paradise. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Paradise.
Foy was preceded in death by his first wife, Fay Brown who passed away in 1964. Also preceding him were a stepdaughter, Teddy Joyce Harris; a granddaughter, Niki Faye Edwards; brothers, Alf, Albert, Tince and Paul.
Left behind to cherish his memory is: his wife of 35 years, Shirley Brown of Paradise; sons, Alfred Brown of Paradise, Bobby Heard and wife Rosanna of Boyd, Johnny Heard and wife Charlene of Paradise; daughters, Carolyn England of Plano, Rhonda Edwards of Paradise; 10 Grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews..
