Bridgeport ~ Frances JoLu (McPherson) Jordan, 88, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 1, 2022 in Cottage Grove, Wisconsin.
Funeral Service will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 9, 2022 at Pleasant View Baptist Church in Bridgeport with burial in Paradise Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.
Rev. Gary Demmitt and Robert McPherson will officiate.
Pallbearers are to include Cason Jordan, Mason Jordan, Alex Castaneda, Dan McPherson, Kent McPherson, and Rodd Melton; Honorary Pallbearers are Gary Green, Kermit Stephens, David Frazier, and Roger Hodges.
Frances was born February 26, 1933 to Raymond and Estella (Bunnell) McPherson in Decatur, Texas. She grew up in Paradise, Texas and graduated in the Paradise High School Class of 1951. Frances knew she wanted to be a teacher after substituting in a grade school class one day while a senior in high school. She was a third-grade teacher at Bridgeport Elementary for many years having taught several generations of students throughout Bridgeport Independent School District. She met the love of her life and was united in marriage on August 6, 1960 to Gerald Jordan in Paradise, Texas who has since gone on to be with the Lord. Frances loved spending time with her grandchildren, great-granddaughter, nieces, nephews and her many cousins. She looked forward to the yearly Bunnell Family Reunion and meeting up with classmates from school.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her brother, Edwin McPherson.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her son, John and his wife Tammy Jordan of Bridgeport; her daughter, Jodie and her husband Javier Castaneda of Cottage Grove, Wisconsin; her grandchildren, Cason and wife Nicole Jordan of Paradise, Mason and wife Stachia Jordan of Boyd, and Alex Castaneda of Worcester, Massachusetts, Cassandra, Elizabeth, and Gabriella Castaneda all of Cottage Grove, Wisconsin, Halee and Colton Klyce of Bridgeport; her great-granddaughter, Palmer Jordan; her brother, Robert McPherson and wife Linda of Edmond, Oklahoma; numerous extended family members and a host of friends.
