Bridgeport ~ Frances Iona McCarty, 89, a retired executive secretary, went to be with our Lord Tuesday, March 1, 2016 in Decatur.
Funeral is 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Speakers are various family members. Pallbearers include her family members.
Frances was born on August 15, 1926 to Thomas and Iona (Hunter) Dudley in Morehead, Mississippi. She was united in marriage to Kenneth McCarty Sr. on March 13, 1946 in Sunflower, Mississippi. Frances worked as the executive secretary for Employers Insurance of Texas. She was a member of the Moose Lodge in Haltom City.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Thomas Dudley; her sister, Mary Applebee; and her daughter-in-law, Penny Sue McCarty.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are husband of 69 years, Kenneth McCarty Sr. of Bridgeport; her sons, Kenneth “Calvin” McCarty Jr. of Bridgeport, Scott McCarty and wife Laura of Ponder, Thomas McCarty and wife Eloise of Clayton, Oklahoma; her grandchildren, Wendy, Brandy, T.J., Austin, Logan, Hunter, Jenny, and Forrest; 5 great grandchildren; other family members, and a host of friends.
