Decatur ~ Francis " Frank" Valentine Zarauskas Jr., 69, a retired oil field worker, went to be with our Lord Monday, May 2, 2016 in Decatur.
No services are scheduled at this time. A BBQ and gathering will be held in the near future to celebrate his wonderful, giving life.
Frank was born on July 18, 1946 to Francis Sr., and Anna (Mazur) Zarauskas in Union, New Jersey. He was united in a common law union to Sharlene LaBott Mitchell on June 18, 2005, at the United Methodist Church in Boyd, Texas.
He retired as an oil field worker after 30+ years.
Frank never met a stranger. In his younger days he ran 26-mile races. He always had a big smile and lots of conversations with everyone. Frank’s Original Rocket Fuel Organic Fertilizer was his primary passion, and it is being sold all over the USA. He raised fish all his life. Frank bragged to everyone that, when as a young teenager, his daughter,Tracy, hand-drew his now famous fish logo. He owned Frank’s Aquaponics Farm, raising food and fish by the cycle of water. Frank held classes for individuals and also for many school children; his Aquaponics system is in Dunbar and Bowie schools, as well as many individual farms. He loved having big BBQs at his farm for lots of friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his first wife, Consuela Zarauskas.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 11 years, Shawn Mitchell of Decatur; his son, Frank Zarauskas III and wife Amber of San Angelo, Texas; his daughter, Tracy Allen and husband Donnie of Coleman, Texas; six grandchildren, Ericka, Daulton, Miami, Denton, Zaylee, and Kylee; 2 great grandchildren, Emery and Carson; his stepson, William Whitehead of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania; and his brother, Andrew Zarauskas of Union, New Jersey.
