Bridgeport ~ Frederick George Dickenson, 72, went to be with our Lord Saturday, October 7, 2023 in Bridgeport.
Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Twin Oak Assembly of God with burial at 9:00 a.m. Friday at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.
Pallbearers are Jacob Mickelson, Nicolas Torres, Josh Mickelson, Bryson Bagshaw, Trevor Mickelson, and Thomas Dickenson.
Fred was born on November 19, 1950 to James Lafeyette and Margaret Louise Dickenson in Dallas. Fred was first and foremost a child & servant of God. His faith instilled his heart’s desire to serve the Bride Of Christ, love his wife as Christ loves the church, raise his children in the fear & admonition of the LORD, share the hope of Christ, to reach, teach & keep boys for Christ as a Royal Ranger Commander. He was united in marriage to Rhonda Smith for 48 years. Fred attended Paradise High School, earned his Bachelor’s Degree at Wright State University, & a Master’s Degree at St. Mary’s University. He served in the US Air Force for 20 years & then taught high school for 18 combined years at Medina Valley HS & Bridgeport HS. He authored five books in retirement. Fred was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, & a friend to many that will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Donald; his sister, Pearl; & his grandchildren Patrick & baby T.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Rhonda; his daughters, Kristi & husband Steve, Eve & husband Barrett, and Angela & husband James; his son, Kevin & wife Tiffanie; his grandchildren, Jacqueline & husband Bryson, Timothy & wife Bethany, Caleb & wife Brittany, Jacob, Joshua & wife Kinsey, Jamie, Zech & wife Kathy, Trevor, Daniel, Alex, Cody & wife Meagan, Nicolas & wife Michelle, Brianna & husband Andrew, Katie & husband Karsten, Alyson, & Thomas; his great-grandchildren, Trinity, Aria, Callie, Brynlee, Oaklyn, Jaxson, Caden, Caroline, Amelia, Josiah, Elowen, Cameron, & Isabel; his brother, Jimmy; his sisters, Donna & Judy; numerous other relatives & a host of friends.
