Boyd ~ G. W. Manning, Jr., 79, a truck driver, went to be with our Lord Thursday, December 15, 2011 in Decatur.
Funeral is 3 p.m. Saturday, December 17, 2011 at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Chapel.
Rev. Gary Sessions will officiate.
G. W. was born on October 17, 1932 to Gilbert Warren, Sr. and L.C. (Glover) Manning in Dallas, Texas. He married Betty Nichols on September 23, 1950 in Wheatland, Texas. G.W. served in the National Guard and was a member of the Teamsters Union.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Larry and Thomas Manning.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 61 years, Betty Manning of Boyd; his children, Valerie Denise Brown of Tyler, Jacki Ann Browning and husband Nathan of Seagoville, Ronnie Wayne Manning and wife Sherri of Boyd, and Michael Manning and wife Josee of Boyd; his grandchildren, Nicci, Tony, Ryan, and Michelle; his great grandchildren, Skylar, Brooke, and Luke; his brother, Melvin Manning and wife Bessie of Durant, Oklahoma; other family members and a host of friends.
