Family will receive friends 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur with burial in Herrin City Cemetery, Herrin, Illinois.
Gayla was born on June 23, 1944 in Munster, Texas to Alton Howard and Jewell (Lawler) Gaston. She was united in marriage to Sonny Keeling on August 21, 1971 in West Covina, California. Gayla was a member of the Cowboy Church in Montague.
Left behind to cherish her memory are husband, Sonny Keeling of St. Jo; daughter, Kim Frenette and husband Jim of Ponder; grandchildren, Bailey and Justin Frenette of Ponder; brothers, Ricky Gaston of Nocona and Ray Gaston and wife Diane, and Chris Gaston both of Hobbs, New Mexico; sisters, Mozelle Hutson and husband Kenneth of Forestburg and Debbie Kerr; and best friends, Linda Hudspeth and husband Dale of Saint Jo, Sherry Willey of Montague, David Warren and wife Rayanne of Alvord, and Ron Patton and wife Terrie of Forestburg.
Gayla is preceded in death by her son, Michael Bauman.
