Memorial service is 1:30 p.m., Saturday, September 21st at Countryside Fellowship Church with Mark Webb and Jeff Tackett.
Gene was born March 31, 1932 in Bridgeport, Ohio to Paul Thomas and Edna (Reece) Brown. He was united in marriage to Venita Potter on January 31, 1953 in Decatur, Texas. Gene retired as a custodian from H.E.B. school district. He served in the United States Air Force and was a member of the Countryside Fellowship Church.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 60 years, Venita Potter Brown of Decatur; son, Robert Brown and wife Ramona of Decatur; two daughters, Deborah Wieske and husband Jim of North Richland Hills and Sharon Hart and husband Lyle of Decatur; seven grandchildren, Sonny Brown and wife Michelle, Chris Brown and wife Michele, Angela Cartagena and husband Rickey, Kimberly Brown-Cross and husband Bobby, Sylvia Hart, Kelly Brown and Katy Brown; 10 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and host of friends.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jerry Brown.
