Gene Darwin King, 88, of Decatur went to be with our Lord Wednesday, September 11th, 2024 in Decatur, Texas.
The Family is having a Private Graveside Service 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 14th, 2024 at Alvord Cemetery with Bro. Michael Feese officiating.
Gene was born December 11th, 1935 to Herman and Ora (Cheek) King in Decatur, Texas. He married Carol Ann Rhine May of 1955 and had 2 children, he later married Dorothy Norman in Johnson City, Texas in July of 1984 until her death November 22nd, 2002.
Gene was a lineman and staker for electrical lines with Wise Electric for 40 years, also a volunteer member of the Wise County Fire Department for 20 years and a member of the Wise County Sheriff Posse for 15 years. He was an active member of the Wise County Antique Car Club since 1975.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Ora King; and his sister-in-law, Loretta King.
Gene is survived by his daughter, Cathy King of Lewisville, and his son, David King and wife Debora of Dallas; step-son, Jimmy D. Moore of Johnson City and step-daughter, Tammy Moore of Johnson City; grandsons, Jesse King of Decatur, Ethan King of Lubbock, Samuel King of Decatur, and David Ryan King of Hawaii; a granddaughter, Emily King of California; his step-grandchildren, Jimmy Moore, Charlie Moore, Jessica Sowell, and Bryson Moore; his sister, Mary Ruth Morales and husband Danny of Alvord; brothers, Bennie King and wife Barbara of Alvord, and Jerry King of Alvord; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
