Geneva Lorene (Averitt) Valkman

Fort Worth ~ Geneva Lorene Valkman, 100, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, July 12, 2023 in Fort Worth.

Funeral will be Saturday, July 15, 2023 at 11:00 am at Living Word Assembly of God in Alvord with burial following at New Harp Cemetery.  Family will receive friends one hour prior to service at the church.

Rev. Phillip Wheitner will officiate.  The pallbearers will include Yancy Qualls, Clint Qualls, Nick Qualls, Bill Gibson, Richard Rives, Josh Gibson, and Jerry Whalen.

Geneva was born March 26, 1923 to Benton McMillan Averitt and Ivy Vivian McDonald in Greenwood.  On January 5, 1942 she married the love of her life, Raymon Loyd Valkman.  Geneva was a homemaker and her family was in farming.  She was a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymon Valkman; her son, Larry Valkman; her grand-daughter, Michelle; three brothers; and two sisters.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughters, Teresa Zink of Benbrook, Reba LaDuke and husband Michael of Cresson, and Gayla Qualls and husband Gary of Benbrook; 5 grandchildren, Tracie, Danea, Yancy, Clint, and Christy; 6 great-grandchildren, Nick, Abbie, Sarah, Jerry, Zachary, and Joshua; 1 great-great-grandchild, Hope; and extended family.
